For many years I had been visiting Tai Pan for yum cha meals with family and friends. With the new management and new name, I had heard that it was worth a visit. On a recent visit I tried out their yum cha menu. Most of the familiar classic dumplings and dishes are available, the stand outs were the Cheong fan (generous size and tasty), salted egg charcoal bun (a little pricey though but it’s a special item off the menu) and pan fried dumplings. Items that require a bit more attention are the egg tarts (served cold! And were a bit on the small side), taro deep fried puff and bbq pork puff pastries which didn’t have much filling. Worth mentioning is the byo tea which is offered complimentary! How does this work? You can byo tea and the restaurant will give you the tea pot and water for free. Although tea is only $2 per cup, when you have a bit group, that’s a saving on tea and more orders for dumplings!
So yummy! Staff were prompt and polite, the only thing I’d change are the prices as some items were costly but would come back again! Great for families
