Lovely, friendly staff and quick service!
Popped in for a salmon, goats cheese and salad focaccia. The flavours went well together and the bread was nice and toasty. Coffee is great too!
Waited for 1hr for a Big Breakfast…. and still waiting!!!
What on earth is happening in the kitchen??!!!
We made a reservation for 3 but we’re put on a tiny table for 2. The couple next to us also waited for about 45min for their eggs with toast and told us the eggs were over cooked and were not impressed. The wait staff had a positive attitude though which saved a walk-out and they seemed to be under a great deal of stress.
Nice sandwich& massive choice. good for business lunch, quick service and great value.
Display fridge looks great nice and fresh. Coffee MIO never hear before, but it was very very nice.
Nice place, best coffee in Doncaster area. And interesting menu and sandwiches, will go back try again, but very busy on Saturday. Love their special salmon scrambled.
Went there this Wednesday, I think they are under new management, open for Sunday now. Surprised. More choice on the menu. Very nice. Will go back again.
Having previously tried their breakfast (and being quite happy) we thought wed stop by for lunch.
The Caf has tables outside and it was a lovely day, except there is a smoking area out front, so we opt to sit inside. It can be a little dark if you go all the way to the back of the caf, but not uncomfortably so as it is lit by almost what Id describe as mood lighting.
Monochrome black and white/silver modern interior with some timber to lighten the dcor.
The staff are always VERY friendly and happy to have a chat. Great customer service.
I was going to have a risotto or their eggs but was persuaded to try the daily special, a burger. It sounded good. Beef pattie, cheese tomato, bacon, slaw and homemade mayo. Alas it missed the mark on execution. The bun was too small for the sheer size of ingredients and much too dense for a burger, everything just gets squished out as you try and eat it. The pattie was well seasoned, juicy, but a little thick rather than being flat and wider, so it was more like a rissole (including the addition of minced onion in the pattie). Im also guessing the pattie was a good 200g-250g, so it was a hefty size. The fried egg wasnt listed as an ingredient, but that was fine as I didnt mind a fried egg on a burger. There was nothing unpleasant about it, it had nice flavours etc, it just wasnt as successful a burger as it could have been. It was almost like a cross between a slider and a burger. A different bun choice would have made the difference.
Unfortunately the steak sandwich missed the mark as well. Whilst the bread was nice and crunchy, the onions were cooked but not caramelised and overall lacked a little flavour. A chutney or relish was needed. There were a few bits of gristle and the steak wasnt quite right for a steak sandwich. Im not sure if it was the cut of beef used or overcooked or something else.
The coffee is very good. Always on the mark. The long black was not burnt and had plenty of body.
So overall this visit was an ok visit with room for improvement. 6/10. Their breakfasts are very good, so we will be back another time.
A modern, bustling caffe, L’Affogato offers very nice cakes and pleasant coffee. A nice quiet setting for lunch or tea. The staff here are friendly and polite.
