The entree curry puff was very oily. We had to wait for almost 30 mins after entree for the mains. Puk Ku Teh was watery with very strong pork smell. Satay beef was chewy, and the satay sauce was too sweet. The rice was gluggy. The wok that was used to fry curry puff and boil puk ku teh was probably not clean either, because suspicious black particles are everywhere on the dish. Wont ever come back again.
Situated next to a crazy busy pizza shop in Doncaster East, Malaysian Kitchen is an evergreen restaurant serving up fantastic large servings of hawker fare at reasonable prices. The service is always warm and friendly. Tonight, our order came out at lightning speed even though they were super busy….well done guys! Best dish of the night was the hokkien char – surprisingly authentic. Their char kuey teow could not beat the one from Penang Flavours but it’s not too far off from the mark. Tom yum noodle was yum but the curry fish head noodle was a mild let down – the broth was great but the fish head pieces were too bony. Having said all that though, this place is da bom and the proof is in the number of people who flock here every weekend.
This venue is a local favourite, especially with people of Malaysian ancestry. Whilst the lunch menu is slightly above the price range of usual lunch menus, it doesn’t deter punters. Item on everyone’s table is fish head soup (don’t freak out). It’s quite nice. Service is a bit dismissive, but adequate
Came here a few times and dishes were ok. Nothing bad but nothing exciting. Just a very average Malaysian place with reasonable price. The restaurant itself probably needs a face lift.
