Ive been to this restaurant multiple times and I havent been disappointed. Their service is friendly and quick, their food has a lot of flavour and the best thing that I like about this restaurant is that their portion sizes are great for the price they charge. It is well worth it and I havent been disappointed.
I had to make a last minute 11 people booking and they were happy to accomodate my family, served us with a big smile on their face. I will be visiting this place in the future and will be recommending this place to others too.
UPDATE we were back at Tantra this week for a family birthday and while its been 18 months since my original review Im pleased to report its as fabulous as ever. My beloved butter chicken is still hands down the best in Melbourne and on this occasion I also tried the amritsiri fish and the malai kofta which were both very yummy. Simply outstanding overall

First up lets talk numbers. I’ve lost count of the amount of times I’ve been here. It’s probably the same amount of times I’ve ordered takeaway from here. I’ve brought four different groups of friends here. I’ve been given complimentary delicious desserts at least three times. And I’ve arrived twice without a reservation and been turned away (). It’s a relatively small place run by a husband and wife team so make sure you book to avoid disappointment. Like I know things always have that disclaimer ‘book early to avoid disappointment’ and they are often in in no danger of booking out but seriously in this instance I implore you, BOOK.
The butter chicken is probably my favourite in all of Melbourne. I’m talking basically scraping the bottom of the bowl so I consume every last drop of that phenomenal sauce. And the tandoori chicken is a strong contender for the best thing I’ve ever put in my mouth. Just get down there
Friendly service but I had food poisoning from here. I feel bad giving this place a 2 because I did think the food was tasty and packed with flavours but I think the chicken might have been just slightly undercooked because I felt so awful. We tried the butter chicken and a lamb curry. The lamb curry we asked for medium which was very spicy, not for those with weak tolerance. In terms of flavour I did prefer the butter chicken because it was less salty. The lamb curry was very salty and the rice portions per person wasn’t that big. I enjoyed the naan bread and would recommend that. The reviews are great here so it’s a shame I experienced food poisoning, I’m not sure if I’ll come back to be honest.

Friendly and very attentive staff. We had goat masala, chicken vindaloo, veg samosa, nann and steamed rice. My chicken vindaloo was lovely flavour and veg samosa was also nice.
We came here for Fathers Day dinner – just the two of us. Located centrally on Blackburn Road amongst other good eateries. This place is a standout.
Welcomed and seated within seconds, we chose to have a few entrees and one main with the usual raita, naan and rice. A nice bottle of Langhi Ghiran Billie Billie Shiraz helped the night.
The staff were just lovely, helpful and the service was fast – but not too fast.
The restaurant itself has nice decor and quite a romantic setting.
Wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly. Good car parking our the front. Takeaway available. In fact, they are one of the top MenuLog takeaway restaurants being a winner in 2018. Kudos to them.
I was looking for a place that serves some good Indian food and a few of my friends recommended this place!
We ordered a Paneer Tikka Masala, Butter Chicken and Chicken Biryani and believe me, we weren’t disappointed.
The butter chicken was absolutely delicious. The gravy was divine. Will order it every time I visit this place or get food delivered from here.
Paneer Tikka Masala was good. It was somewhat different than what we actually get it in India. It was more like a regular Paneer Capsicum Onion curry. But not bad.
Chicken Biryani was great as well. They also served some extras with our order like some Naans, Papadums and Gulab Jamuns and we loved it!
For me, the star was that butter chicken! Do try it and if you can handle spicy food then instruct them to make it hot! Personally not a fan of sweet butter chicken so loved this!
