Up The Road burgers sells larger sized burgers, hotdogs, loaded fries and milkshakes and I was invited along by a blogger friend to plus one on their invitation.

The restaurant itself was pleasant enough with a couple of tables outside and 4 inside. This family run business has a good burger menu with good range of beef, chicken and a vego option and what I liked was there was plenty of add ons to upscale with.

I chose the Caliente Burger which was a jalapeo laces fried chicken burger with bacon, lettuce, tomato, cheddar. I added a beef patty because I wanted to be cool and everyone else has been doing it. I actually quite enjoyed the combo of chicken, beef and bacon. The chicken meat was good quality and the beef patty quite thick and there was a fair amount of juice drip. The bacon was quite thin and as crisp as you can get Australian bacon.

I had a Hershey Choc shake which was rich and very chocolate tasting.

I shared a large loaded fries and these were tasty and enjoyable but they we far to big after my massive burger and shake so would stick to the regular size next time.

For those that need to know Up The Roads Beef is all halal, their hot dog sausages are made of halal beef but taste quite similar to your standard gourmet hotdog sausage.

I was invited to Up the road tonight, a local burger joint with a truly lovely owner. I ordered the hybrid which was (as the name suggests) a combination of both fried chicken and beef. This is a good selection for those on the fence as its truly the best of both worlds.

It was a generous size and I ate it alongside a choc Hersheys shake. What really rounded out the meal for me were the delicious loaded fries. There were well seasoned, nice and crispy and with the perfect ratio of cheese and sauce. I also enjoyed the addition of beef. Next time Ill try the intriguing sounding carrot float drink!

The beef was nice, but the chicken was a bit dry. But I guess its always like that with the case of breast meat. Hard to make it succulent. I liked the herbs and spices they used on the chips.
Good value for money overall. Esp their $9.50 combo set – which we missed. Only saw it on the way out. Would have liked if they put the burgers on wooden boards as the paper tends to tear in the plastic basket making it hard to cut up the burgers. Still would recommend this place to anyone after a decent beef burger and good friendly service!

Up the Road is located on Blackburn Road in Doncaster East. Offering a menu of burgers, loaded fries, shakes & juices, we were keen to check it out.

I ordered the Southern burger which came with fried chicken, coleslaw & pickles and added cheese & grilled pineapple. I really enjoyed this burger, the chicken was tender, the coleslaw & pickles added a nice crunch & freshness.

My friend had the Usual burger & added bacon & fried chicken & found it really tasty & the salad was very fresh.

The loaded fries were a hit with us both, served with cheese sauce, jalapeos & a chopped type of beef sausage. The combination was delicious & the sausage was a tasty addition. We washed it all down with shakes.

Up the Road has a basic setup with seating outside too & we were impressed with the quality of the burgers. Thanks so much for having us.
