I was off to a bad start with Itamae Sushi when I came and ordered my chicken teriyaki don at lunch today. Not having cash I was disturbed to learn they wouldnt take credit card or eftpos for orders under $15 and the lady behind the counter was indifferent towards bending the rules in order to secure a sale. I stomped off in disgust only for Kelisi to say she really wanted that dish and go back and order it with the cash she had. She really shouldnt as it was probably one of the more average chicken dons we have had in some time. More rice than topping and chicken that was there, though tender, wasnt particularly tasty. We ended up dipping the chicken from this don in the curry sauce from another vendor just to make it more interesting. I dont think either of us will return and lets face it there are absolutely plenty of dining options here that make better tasting food.
I went to get sushi hand rolls, got to the counter and was told there was a $15 minimum for cards. So I get 3 gyozas and a spring roll. Not enough. So I add 3 more gyozas hoping to hell it’s all worth it.
Let’s just say I won’t be back.
Came here today for dinner staff where friendly, fresh sushi was being brought out. All the sushi is really good and tastes fresh. I order the crispy prowl roll and the avocado roll, here both really good would definitely recommend and will be coming back.
I haven’t been here for quite sometime and they had increased the price since my last visit. I had the okonomiyaki which was quite filling despite the look of the portion size. They had slightly improved the quality of the okonomiyaki, as it use to be more floury then vege filling wise. However, I must say it is average compared to other okonomiyakis I’ve had as this one just contains shredded chopped cabbage with no other ingredients. Another con is the fact there is surcharge if paying by credit card.
Tried the tempura udon. The soup base is decent and the servings are filling. Tempura was overly battered that I couldn’t even taste the prawn. Service is average, maybe I opted for the wrong dish.
Went to buy something here today and was told a 50c charge to use my credit card. Does not even sound legal didn’t see any signs. AVOID! Nobody else in whole food court does
