We ordered sambal fish and xo sauce clams with rice. DIshes were tasty and the price was reasonable. Unfortunately the rice was quite dry which took away from the meal. The menu was mostly malaysian style food with seafood components rather than all out seafood bar food. Staff were all polite and lovely. To order we were given a piece of paper to write the codes and press a bell when service was required. All in all, we had a lovely time and will likely return in the future.
I was moderately devastated when my favourite Papparich branch closed down a few months ago. The rumour was that apartments would be built on the site (just what we need….more apartments). So I was surprised to find that this seafood restaurant has opened here instead.
Walking in, there have been some cosmetic changes. There are table cloths now and the chairs have been reupholstered to mimic the aqua blue theme of the restaurant.
The food was surprisingly good and reasonably priced. We had the seafood wat tan hor which had generous amounts of seafood and was well seasoned. The sambal on each table was exceptional and I wouldn’t mind taking a bottle of the sambal home with me.
The highlight of my day was the whole fried fish with Thai sauce – the fish was quite large and fried perfectly. The sauce and accompanying vegetables went very well together. This came with a generous serve of jasmine rice.
So if you’re looking for competitively priced seafood dishes, this place is a reasonable choice.
Not much change from Paparich menu and decor. No Roti maker. Laksa genuine sauce and mixture of noodles. Char Kwai Teoh done well but few ingredients. Ok for Malaysian street food.
Room for improvement. Had a laksa and fried flat rice noodle. Both were bland and the fish slice in the laksa was still raw in the center. Service was good and prompt.
