This is not our first time dining in this cafe, we are regulars. Love their smoothies and their presentation of the dishes. Today we ordered 2 x big breakfast to share among 4 of us. The scramble eggs c^ooked to perfection, maple bacon with waffles and lovely avocado on toast. We enjoyed it so much. We will be back again.

This is our ‘local’ and it is one of the few places you can go where you can hear all your guests’ conversations. Had a large family lunch party yesterday and our hosts were so nice about the sporadic arrival times of our guests. Were not flustered at any time and very welcoming to all. This is like eating at home except the food is wonderful. It is tucked away beneath the Nest building on Clay Drive/Doncaster Road corner but once you are inside, you are not cramped or overwhelmed by any noise. I had my favourite, Beet Cured salmon. I could live on that dish which is one of their creative Asian fusion signature plates. You COULD share plates as it does have a tapas feel, but you won’t get me sharing the beet-cured salmon. Ever. You can order wine or beer – we didn’t. But their prices overall seem very reasonable and yet the dishes are finessed really well. The flexibility of the kitchen is terrific (our party ranged from toddler to grand-parents) and they cater to all allergies or tastes. Park at Westfield and walk across the road and you will be happy you did.

We love this spot for brekky. We’ve tried a few things and they have all been excellent – soft shell crab with eggs benny, fried chicken poke bowl, kimchi pork with cheese in roti, big breakfast that is served in a two tiered serving tray. Good portions as well. Recommend this place if you’re looking for something different.

Star turn was a little bit hard to get to due to its location and limited parking. I loved the bright and cheerful interior. There was definitely a lovely casual atmosphere at this joint and service was warm, welcoming and efficient. Their menu was interesting but a bit all over the place. Their weekly specials had Indian, Japanese, Korean and other Asian influences. We ordered the southern fried chicken with waffles. This was plated beautifully. It came with maple bacon, apple slaw and a perfect egg with oozy yolk covered in panko crumbs. The waffles were eggy. Unfortunately the whole dish was a bit too dry and could’ve done with some sauce. They held back with the maple syrup which was a shame. We also had one of their weekly specials. This was quite delicious – it consisted of various mushrooms, pumpkin and veges smothered in a tasty cheese sauce. Simple but pleasant enough. So while it’s not 5 stars, Star Turn is an ok place to visit if you are in the area.

finally visited this cafe, hidden away in doncaster and definitely worth the adventure to find it. the only flaw would be that it’s a little bit tricky to find parking longer than one hour but side streets are available within a short walk – not a deal breaker at all.being midweek, it was very quiet however the staff were extremely attentive and friendly. it’s doubtful this sunny demeanour would change as the crowds increase as each employee seemed really genuine.the portions of food were substantial with perfect presentation that obviously had lots of care taken to look so lovely. milk based coffee was great but perhaps lacked a good strong kick with the long black blend.the menu was creative, and certainly offered more than the standard items. it’s very much a cute cafe with a little twist of Asian influence.
