Had a medium salad, with 2 options the pumpkin beetroot and cauliflower salad. Was an enjoyable healthy meal, good for a quick bite. Can be a bit crazy busy in the food court area at lunch time
Sumo salad has many healthy options that you can buy on the go or get made fresh. I prefer the made fresh option. I really like how the menus have the nutritional information on them. I love the salmon bowl and it’s fresh cooked salmon and the Thai beef bowl. This is a great healthy venue and I like they serve kombucha now!
I was feeling unusually healthy after a disappointing shopping trip to Westfield Doncaster and I decided to have a salad for lunch. Fortunately it was a pleasant surprise. I had 2 different salads from their well presented bain marie. The various mountains of fresh vegetables and beans were all so colourful and enticing. I had salads with quinoa, pumpkin, chickpeas and other assorted crunchy bits. Everything was fresh and well seasoned. This has definitely made me a fan of Sumo Salad!
Wanted a healthy but delicious lunch option and opted for a ready to be made salad from sumo salad. I ordered the teriyaki beef salad which consists of baby spinach, snow peas, cucumber, brown rice, broccoli and of course, teriyaki beef. It had a lot of sauce, which did make it a bit on the sweet side, but it’s not sickening. Next time I definitely would order less sauce. Sometimes salads are not filling but this one definitely is, especially because the beef portion is huge. Overall, very yummy and cannot wait to try more salads.
There are days when I like my vegetables stir-fried or roasted, and then there are those when I appreciate them in the form of a fresh salad. It’s days like the latter where a place like Sumo Salad seem to fit the bill. With quite a few variations to choose from, it took me quite a while before eventually deciding on the half-and-half option of Japanese Miso Salmon and Pesto Chicken & Walnut. While the miso and pesto dressings presented a pleasant symphony of flavours, the limp greens and borderline dry chicken and fish failed to provide any justice to what could’ve otherwise been great salads. No doubt it was a healthy option, but one that lacked the freshness and vibrance of ingredients that make up a good salad.
