It was overall an enjoyable Italian meal dished up by Zero 95 in Dromana. There’s no doubt their reputation precedes them, and if for nothing else, the pizzas at Zero 95 are a must try.
Service from one particular staff member was unbelievably and unnecessarily rude. I was getting takeaway pizza and asked if it could be sliced into 8 slices instead of 4. This staff member (who looked like he was possibly the manager?) firstly told me a flat out no, they were “too busy”. When I explained it was for a young child, his response was one of annoyance and barked back at me “no, you can cut it yourself with a knife and fork at home”. At this point I was completely bewildered at the level of rudeness and was forced to explain that we were eating on the beach and had no knife and fork with us. Again I was met with irritation and told “the boys won’t do it, they’re too busy. Bring it back to the bar and I’ll do it myself here”. Unbelievable. I shouldn’t have to beg for such a small request that takes TWO SECONDS to do especially when I’m spending $40+ for just two pizzas. The pizzas that night were sloppy with ingredients just chucked on. Not up to their usual standards, guessing that was because of how busy it was. Giving a score of 2 only because the ingredients were fresh and good quality and there was a nice female waitress that picked up my order and gave it to me. Side note: their ice cream bar is cash only.
