Came here with a bunch of friends for dinner. The service is good and the sommelier gave a fantastic recommendation for wine. However, it stops there. Food was good but not wow! For the price and the hype sezar fell a bit flat. From memory my favourite was the crab meat dumplings.
Right from the beginning the food and service was amazing. Everything has the perfect amount of flavour and was presented beautifully. Very authentic and couldn’t have enough of everything. Everything is designed for sharing. Service was great and seems like a perfect date place. I would come back again!
While I really wanted to like this place, I thought it was quite average food wise. Service was great though. Perhaps it was a case of ordering the wrong combination of things. The hummus bread was good, but I didnt think the pork belly was great. The duck borek and dumplings were also not stand out – taste wise. The baclava is good though. I am willing to come back to try other dishes – and I hope the restaurant would change my mind then!
It’s a friend bday and the bday girl wanted to try something different, so we choose this Armenian restaurant cos none of us ever try Armenian cuisine before. Came as group of 8 and it’s nice that we don’t have to do banquet. We ordered few dishes to share. Ordered marmara (capsicum dips) served with chickpeas bread which is nice, roasted pumpkin which I think $28 for 4 slices of pumpkin are overpriced, duck pastry which is tasty, beef dishes, nice barramundi and lovely dessert. We all quite happy with the food quality and the service.
This was my first Armenian dining experience and it blew my mind. I came here to have a dinner and it was almost fully booked. The ambiance and service was good. The food was amazing, especially the baklava. Definitely a unique experience.
I was recommended this place by a friend, and trust me I loved it. The staff is keen to help you know about the Armenian food and they genuinely want you to have a good time there.
The ambience is cosy and the crowd was pretty amazing. I would definitely go there again 🙂
Still one of my favourite restaurants because of the unfailingly amazing food, chic and classy atmosphere and attentive service.
Tonight we opted to share a snack and a main, order our own entrees and desserts because of the various dietary requirements. Sezar changes their menu and the highlight tonight for me was the spanner crab manti (dumplings) with pine nuts, brown butter and warm yoghurt soup. It was one of those dishes where I wished it came as a main. Such skill in combining the ingredients and flavours so that everything harmonised.
The steamed barramundi also deserves a special mention – served with harissa greens and mograbieh (pearl cous cous). So tender, juicy and full of flavour. Other dishes tonight included the cured ocean trout, oyster mushrooms, red pepper dip, cheesecake, baklava and honey cake. We were extremely happy with our choices and loved the taste sensations exploding in our mouths.
We booked the first sitting and had the table for 90 mins, which is a bit rushed, but staff still took our dessert orders even though we were at risk of being late. They were professional and helpful throughout, as they’d been in all previous visits. This is my restaurant of choice to bring visitors because it is consistently great and showcases Melbourne’s quality dining scene.
