I am very confused about the rating and have mentally prepared myself for a tasty meal as the reviews indicate this is one of the best burger places around.
One of the patties had Indian spices through it and it simply didnt work with the rest of the flavours plus the patty was formed like a meat ball rather than a patty which meant you had to eat half the burger without the patty. The bread was too sweet and not baked and there was no signature sauce or anything else that would make the burger unique in any way.
All in all the reviews did not match our expectations today and I will under no circumstances be returning since grilld is across the road
Finally decided to head on down my local area and try out the new kid on the block. While the place may look small, the flavors and color of their burgers with a Indian take will definitely satisfy your burger cravings. Highly recommend you go and try out this place for yourself.
Popped in for dinner on a Saturday with a group of 7 people, and was surprised to see the place pretty empty. Its a small-medium sized space with a cool modern-Indian interior; a cool mural of Indian gods spans one side of the wall while a cool neon light grabs your attention on the other.
We ordered the butter chicken poutine, popcorn chicken and gobhi65 to share and our own burgers.
The butter chicken poutine was pretty good, as was the gobhi65 (its flavour reminded me of sweet and sour sauce) and the cauliflower was soft and juicy. The popcorn chicken was a bit disappointing – the chicken itself was ok though bit dry, but the cheese sauce didnt complement it at all. My honest suggestion would be that they change the sauce on top… For my main I ordered the Mr.65 and found it to also be a bit average. I didnt feel that the burger was well-balanced as it got too greasy and the flavour a bit too much very quickly. Id have loved some kind of pickles or pickled relish to keep the flavour balanced, or to accompany the burger. The chicken however was well cooked and juicy.
My Indian friend and the waiter suggested I try the thums up soft drink to accompany the food (apparently THE most popular soft drink in India- its a mix between coke and pepsi and a dash of creamy soda?). Just as they suggested, it went well with the food; helping wash down the grease and various spices.
Overall, a pretty average meal but worth a try as its quite a differed take on burgers; but the waiting staff were lovely and attentive.
BURGER SHURGER IS AMAZING!!!!
This place has done something no one else has, INDIAN FUSION BURGERS! And believe it or not, it works SO bloody well! I can’t stress enough how original and delicious their menu items are!
I actually visited quite a few months ago but I can see from the reviews it has only become better.
I loved their MIGHTY BUTTER CHICKEN and VADA PAV BURGER! The Vada Pav has a spicy mashed potato patty, with a spiced green sauce layered on it, and as someone with Indian heritage I can confirm these flavours are authentic!
The sauce for the butter chicken burger is made in house and just adds so much flavour, so happy this place exists!
Great , just great. Worth the hype and high rating. Tried their butter chicken , juicy Lucy and beef burger. All of them were amazing. The guy who served us went above and beyond to provide us the best customer service possible. Thanks guys. Will definitely visit again.
Definitely one of the most unique burger joints in Melbourne!
This burger joint is indian inspired from burgers to sides and even drinks! We ordered the famous Might Butter Chicken burger with an extra masala beef patty. The burger was juicy and super tasty with the homemade butter chicken sauce. Unlike the usual bright orange butter chicken sauce, this sauce was homemade a delicious texture from ground nuts. We also tried their more original non-indian burger the Juicy Lucy which had a Sous Vide patty (if you haven’t tried sous vide, you must!) The Patty was juicy and filled with melted cheese (beware!). For sides we had the Ghobi 65, deep fried cauliflower tossed in No.65 sauce which was our favourite ! We also have the Crispy Chilli Potatoes which we found tasty but would of preferred the chips to be crunchier.
We were also lucky to try their Masala Chai Tea Creme Brle. It was delicious! a perfect way to end a burger meal. The Chai had a perfect balance of spices. (Its not on the menu so make sure you ask!)
