Had a lovely experience with this place, my latte was really good and their cakes were fantastic. The girl who served me was lovely and was quite friendly. Will come back in the future
What was advertised as coffee and cake for $5 turned out to be coffee and banana bread, so that to me was kind of misleading. Since I had already hyped myself up for cake, I went ahead and ordered a coffee and cake anyway.
Luckily for me, the honey cake that I ordered was lovely, both in flavour and texture. Light and moist, it was much tastier than the lime cheesecake that my friend ordered, which was a bit dry and dense.
My cappuccino was quite decent, but there are definitely much better places for coffee in the area.
There was only one girl working in the cafe -taking orders and making the coffee, while another remained at the grocery and deli part of the shop at the back. Not exactly the most practical or efficient when there are lots of customers out front waiting for coffee; the poor girl was lost amongst the orders.

Friendly staff, lovely setup with a supermarket style deli at the back and a cafe at the front. Very relaxing and calming energy.
It’s always great Russian home style cooking there. We are regular there for their super delicious meatballs, borsch, beef soup and Russian pancake. Locals in Elsternwick should definitely get in and try it out!
