Our experience yesterday was very disappointing. Although the cafe serves coffee and many varieties of food we were told that the toilet is not for customers and to go to Coles or a public toilet. This is unacceptable when caffeinated beverages are served as well as food. Also it is said to be child friendly which is not so when after eating a child does not have access to a toilet. Although the food is good the attitude is unprofessional and one which we have not encountered in a similar cafe before. Unless you have a bladder that is verrrry strong go elsewhere!!!
Had actually wanted to come for a quick cuppa but arrived after they had finished cleaning the espresso machine. Mental note to self, Olia closes at 4pm and not 6pm as stated here. Not wanting to leave empty handed after the lovely lady behind the counter went out of her way to direct us to the nearest cafe that is still open, and mainly because I can never say no to baked goods, we left with no coffee but a coconut cronut, sausage roll and two bagels. I guess you could say I was substituting caffeine for carb. In hindsight, I should have also bought the doughnuts and raisin rolls that I was eyeing, because I was very impressed with my haul. Cronut had a super crispy crust yet soft interior, topped with generous coconut flakes, and my partner very much enjoyed the meaty goodness encased in super buttery pastry. Correct me if I’m wrong but I am guessing that Olia’s bagels have a shorter boil time, resulting in thin and somewhat elastic crust, and an overall softer texture; which I personally really enjoyed compared to the denser bagels with a longer boil time.
