The place has been cleaned and re organized by a lovely new owners and you can feel the change straight away! Great coffee, yummy bagels, and an amazing range in the deli section! Will come back for sure !!
This place has really cleaned up, looks like they’ve been working hard to improve, lots of people in and out with fresh produce which is a good sign! noticed a new breakfast menu + yummy pastries that I’ve never seen here before. The falafel wrap is out of this world, one of the best I’ve ever eaten. Definitely a place I’ll keep coming back to! keep up the good work.
This is the third bakery item I purchased from them that is dry and stale in the last 2 weeks. A chocolate slice that was inedible , a dry focaccia and today another stale bakery item. They need to stop serving stale bakery items. Besides this it is a very good deli.
I’ve been a regular customer of Rustica Cafe Deli for over a year now. I always come back to them for superb coffee, a quick and easy lunch and friendly service.
Although a very busy cafe, the staff remember the coffee orders of their regular customers which is a lovely touch. Their bagels and rolls are made fresh daily and their coffees are some of the best I have tried in the area. Despite limited seating, this place is thriving and lunch times are when it’s at its busiest.
Aside from their delicious array of cakes, quiches, pies, biscuits, bagels and rolls, Rustica is also a fully-stocked deli with some competitively priced hams, chicken breasts and cheeses.
I highly recommend checking out Rustica when next in the area. They are well-worth a visit.
This is a really great place you just have to double check the use by dates! I’ve bought a few things and it’s either passed or used by or a day away. The selection of meats, cheese, breads and antipasto are abundant. Service is always consistent.
For some unknown reason, I only remember the deli part to Rustica and not the cafe part. That is why despite working within walking distance of Rustica, I have yet to drop by Rustica for a coffee until recently when we found ourselves a parking space right in front of Rustica. Walked in and lost my partner to the huge range of meats, cheese, pasta and takeaway meals in the deli section. That left me with the sole decision-making power on what to order. The wide selection of cake, pastries and cookies definitely made it hard for me but I finally decided on a skinny latte, apple crumble tart and what resembles a bee sting (the cashier described it as a round custard eclair topped with almond flakes). The skinny latte arrived piping hot – it was difficult to drink it without burning yourself. It became much more palatable when it cooled down. The apple crumble tart was warmed up for us without us needing to ask (a nice touch) and was bursting with aromatic flavours of the apple and cinnamon. The buttery crumble added a nice crunch and richness to the tart. Moving on to the bee sting. I had one elsewhere that was absolutely delicious just recently and while Rustica’s version was good, it couldn’t beat the previous one. The custard was spot on but the pastry was a tad chewy and soggy. Maybe it has been sitting there a bit too long. Regardless, I’m tempted to return to try more of the sweets. A steady stream of customers leaving with boxes of cakes and pastries is always a good sign. Friendly and warm service may also explain why many returning customers seem to be locals.
Surprisingly good little cafe with friendly staff and amazing easy eats. Highly recommend their Cajun chicken Turkish roll, perfect lunch option. Portion’s a bit big, but of good value.
