Booked here for a party.. in a room on our own the room at the back. It was free. We get there told its been taken. I advised you said it was free when we booked and the fobbed us off… i thought ok food and menu are still ok.. we then have a look at the menu all changed.. i go onto the website and still showing old menu on the website… NOT HAPPY We get there he menu on here is not current. They have changed it and removed so many options. The entrees are reduced by 1/3 .. we got garlic cheese bread… it was cheese on bread.. no garlic and full of butter.. stir fry wanted no cashews.. told cant as the sauce is made offsite.. why would a stir fry not be made with a fresh sauce?? Scary shit.. got risotto.. overcooked and tasteless .. beef burger.. patty tasted like it was frozen… ordered a chicken burger with no sauce but on the side they still put sauce in burger i have been coming here for years as was a great menu for senious, big kids, it had one of the best nasi gorengs around. For a pub .. all those positivr points now removed… . wont go back.. seniors menu also has all fried stuff… no risotto.. oh yeah and the @sealer.. kids meals also reduced.no only cater for lityle kids no big kids options . .. specials on the night veal scallopini.. get to order.. no veal scallopini.. why is it on the tables as a optionBasically i would rather go to maccas to eat… i hate maccas.. what does that tell you… avoid at all costs…
Booked a function here a few weeks ago, after paying my deposit got told that the room I wanted and looked at was actually booked and I had to change rooms to the one I disliked. The man who took my booking clearly had no idea what he was doing and palmed me off to a young girl, who luckily was walking past at the time as she was the one who noticed he had double booked me and was clearly very embarrassed and very apologetic. He was not one bit apologetic about what he had done. At least could have offered me a better deal (like not charging me room hire for a room I don’t even like). I know their a business but jeez you’d think for an error on their end they’d be somewhat remorseful. I have since returned and dined in the bistro, food was really good and I hope that sets a good representation of what it’ll be like on the night. Fingers and toes are crossed that I actually get to celebrate my birthday on the night and I am not double booked. We’ll see. Already a bit unsure about how it will go so I probably wouldn’t recommend having a function here.
The senior’s meal choices are the best we have come across. The food was hot and delicious and cooked just the way we asked it to be. The waiting staff, especially Amanda, were wonderful. Compliments to the chefs.
Went here for a meal with the family for my mothers/brothers birthday – not a choice I’d usually make.
The meals are quite expensive and the food served just doesn’t match the price paid. The chicken kiev I had was very dry.
While others were happy with their meals, they weren’t raving about them.
No plans to return.
Passable pizzas barely. Don’t bank on an authentic crispy crust here. It’s pretty basic and the price is low so the expectations were met. Service is friendly though and beers are cold .
Every time we’ve been to Cross Keys both service and food have been very good. Plenty of variety in the menu for everyone. They recognise that there are vegetarians, vegans, seniors & kids who would dine there. There is the usual pokie pub fare which is probably better than other local venues. For a ‘pub’ the bistro has a nice calm atmosphere, staff are always lovely and accommodating and we can always find something nice to eat. It is wha it is: a pokie/pub bistro and Cross Keys is probably one of the better ones in the area.
Dined here last week, had the Champagne Chicken. Meal was beautiful and service was great. Hubby had the Kiev, he said he’s meal was bloody beautiful. Definitely returning!!!
