Located along Buckley St, Essendon close to the train station, St Marthas Cafe is a suburban neighbourhood gem. The cafe is spacious, making it ideal for groups.

We ordered the Shakshuka and the Pork Benedict along with the Acai berry & granola smoothie and a coffee to drink.

Out of the two dishes, the standout was the Benedict. The pork belly was cooked perfectly. The crisp asparagus provided a freshness to the dish, whilst the apple pure provided a hint of sweetness. The dish was tied together by the creamy chipotle hollandaise sauce. The shakshuka would be ideal for a cold morning, it was warm and conforting. I cant quite pinpoint it but it somehow seemed reminiscent of a curry.

Overall I had a pleasant experience at St Marthas Cafe and I recommend that you check them out if youre in the area. I give them out of 5. Thanks very much for having me.

We went on a Tuesday morning. There were 3 of us plus about 3 others in the cafe. 3 others ordering take away. Sat down and given menus. Took our coffee orders and they came out fine. Then nothing. The service disappeared. Didnt come back to take food orders. We waited a while then just got up, paid for coffees and left.

Family owned business, lovely people, great service & 10/10 meals. I ordered the corn fritters and my partner the double wagu burger. We loved it. The prices are very reasonable and the food is mouth watering. Definitely be back & recommend for everyone to try
