The current 3.5 rating is spot on. This is a nicely run and friendly place that serves pleasant food. The fit out is old fashioned. It looks 70s not 80s. It doesn’t matter as the bistro teeters on the edge of retro fashionability. It also doesn’t matter as the place is run well. We were cheerily greeted by both a server and manager. They couldn’t have been pleasanter or better at their roles. They’re a credit to the business. The mini bread rolls we had to start were lovely. The lamb shanks I ordered were as hearty as I’d hoped on another cool Melbourne evening. They hit the spot beautifully. My colleague’s risotto also went down a treat. The wine list was fine and better than I’ve seen at more ambitious bistros. I liked this place and would review it most favourably.

Friendly staff and very nice owner with a big smile.
