My friends taken me to this place last Friday and I did
really like majority of their food. We had a mix order to taste number of
dishes. We had lamb shank (there is 2 styles and both were sensational) and
this is the signature dish to me. We also had lamb and chicken shish and both
were pretty good, I preferred lamb over chicken. We did try kofte shish which
they cover the shish with meat and cook on the charcoal, taste was great but I found
it slightly dry. At the end, my friend ordered falafel for us to try and I dont
eat it often but their falafel was pretty good. Staff was friendly and
welcoming, I would definitely go back and recommend for you to try. Yummy
Im pretty new to Iraqi food. But its definitely a cuisine thats easy to decipher whats good and whats not. The food here is quite good. The bread is made right in front of you which is a treat. I regularly have the kaymak with fresh bread and local honey. Its amazing!!!!!!!! The tea is great and theres plenty of options even if your not experienced with this style of food. The food overall for me is 4/5 here. The down side however is the establishment itself. Its dank and dirty and the furniture looks like someone collected it from kerbside rubbish. Its not inviting and it echoes when your trying to converse with your mates. If the owners would spend some money here on decor it would go a long way to attracting some more diverse clientele. While its not somewhere Ill eat in regularly its a great little hidden takeaway breakfast spot
One of the best falafel plates in town – 9 crunchy and light falafels with dips and different kinds of veggies/pickles with freshly baked Iraqi bread…only $14! Chicken tikka was really good too. Two meals would’ve been enough to feed 3 people. Great value!
If you are looking for authentic Iraqi home food…can’t go passed this place…..families, workers, business people all go…and was recommended to me by an Iraqi expat who travels from the other side of town to eat here. Quick take away available. Always fresh..try the lamb shanks, necks and soups falafels…try it all…mmmmm .recommended anytime.
