Fork was a regular for us during the week & on weekends & was our go to of the North. The staff are friendly & the food was good value. The last few times we have been however, we have found that the menu has changed; there is less variety (you can no longer get the egg, spinach, cheese roll) & prices have increased substantially, so much so that the previous value for money is no longer attractive & its now just become another cafe rather than that great find. Its no longer our cafe of choice

Went for lunch today with the fam. I tried the specials, linguine frutta di mare. It was so tasty and there was so much seafood… they werent stingy at all! Its a cute/cosy little cafe in the northern suburbs of Fawkner. Staff were also very friendly! It was very authentic with their Italian home made food and furniture to match.

Quite surprised actually with this cafe. I was so pleasantly surprised by how delicious the food was and the price was great too. Chose the zucchini and corn fritters with smoked salmon. Eggs were poached perfectly and the fritters themselves were light. Staff were very friendly and attentive.
The only downfall is the coffee, I’d honestly say it’s just about par. I’m also impressed with their dinner menu. I will definitely go back the next time I’m in the area.

Seriously delicious pasta, excellent value for money. Staff were very friendly and helpful. There are a few toys and a good selection of kids dishes. Highly recommended.

    Cash only.

The Fork Shop is an understated gem of Fawkner, in my opinion. I was shocked at how reasonably priced the food was, with my avo on toast only $8. That price inspired some skepticism, but the portion size was great and the ingredients were lovely and fresh. Coffee is nice and strong, and the little outlet has a homely atmosphere. Even on a sleepy Wednesday morning, I could tell that people love coming here, and why not when the staff are so warm. I’ll be back for lunch.

Really great to have a cafe in Fawkner, let alone one with an authentic Italian menu and cool retro interior. I had the lasagne which was generous and filling. Coffee was good too. Service was attentive and friendly. Only criticism is that the menu didn’t match what was served – time to print out a current version. Would definitely go again, can’t wait to try the piadine.
