Great take away food and convenient. Noodle box is always able to fill me up for dinner and lunch the next day for work as well. Most important is that I can see what they’re making and it gives me comfort when I can see my food being cooked anywhere really!
Just found this place by accident and so glad we did. Really friendly people the food was fast really affordable came out nice and hot and tasted delicious. The best noodles and rice we have had in a while. Definitely will go back
Filthy little joint in mountain gate strip. Instantly regretted going there but had already ordered. Sat down on the cleanest of the 3 tables. Soy sauce splatters on the wall, condiments were so dirty I doubt they ever get cleaned, one of the shakers had old food stuck in the grill. Half inch thick crud under and around the drinks fridge. To say I was put off my meal before it even came out would be an understatement. Rice paper rolls had absolutely minimum ingredients. Not even going to comment on the rest of the food as I left most of it on the plates. Seriously.. clean your joint, it’s disgusting.
Got takeaway from here last night and it wasn’t bad value for the serving size. We ordered the Deluxe Bento, Hot Bento A and Tatsuta Age. The Deluxe Bento was a bit disappointing in the variety in the box. It had about 9 huge pieces of California Roll, which made up the bulk of the Bento, plus some salmon sashimi, salmon sushi, one tobiko sushi and one beancurd skin sushi. It was a large serving but I felt it had way too much rice and should have had some salad element to balance it out. The Hot Bento had teriyaki beef, gyoza, tempura and rice. I think this was quite a good deal for the price and was pretty tasty. The Tatsuta Age (fried chicken) was nice but a bit on the oily side.
The total cost of the three items was $37 and was more than enough for two people.
Food is amazing!!!!. I came here the other week with my family and they were able to cater all our picky needs. We were allowed to conveniently take out vegetables we didn’t like and add in other things. It was great and the kids got some sushi that were freshly made. Overall a very satisfied family with the food and definitely will be visiting again!
Good and affordable. They make really good miso soup and its only $2
Still a great value eat, for vegetarian or meat.. Have been trying their lunchtime noodle boxes – at $7.50-8.50, you really cannot go wrong.
Nearly every dish has a vegetarian option, you just need to ask the owner/chef and he will substitute tofu for meat, put more veggies in, use vegetarian sauces, etc.
Another thing I tried and was blown away by was the okonomikayi, their Japanese savoury grilled omelette with AUTHENTIC japanese mayo and sweet soy! A complete delight cooked fresh on demand. Available in vegetarian or meat. Can’t remember the cost but it was not pricey I think under $10. Enjoyed it so much we ordered a second one straight after we finished the first. A true local gem.

Sushi GEM completely unexpected. Pros: fresh salmon sushi bento, large serves, amazing quality generally. For those of you who dont know, the prop used to be a sushi chef in an up market part of Melb. When I go, I regularly get one of the following: (1) sushi sashimi bento box – this comes with a generous salmon sashimi, california rolls, and some other yummy assorted entrees (2) teriyaki beef bento box – this comes with a generous helping of beef and hot rice, along some assorted entrees. (3) the deluxe sushi bento – this comes with inside out california rolls with flying fish roe and assorted other goodies – well worth trying. Cons: some of the noodle dishes are derivative rather than genuine, although some of my friends regularly get their stir fry noodles – go figure. Wir: Yes, I make it a point to visit when I pass through this area.
