I love supporting local businesses and supported the previous Mountain Gate Pizza and Pasta as a regular for many years so excited to try it out.A couple of weeks ago I ordered a gluten free pizza as I am Coeliac and asked for a large pizza. Informed they only make it in medium. Fine. Can I please have half and half toppings? We don’t do half and half in pizzas. Fine once again. Made my order and confirmed gluten free once again as the staff member confirmed it.Received my pizza. Had a few slices. Ended up getting sick with not much sleep and worse the next day and night. Had to excuse myself all night at a charity dinner I was aiding in.Rang the next day and talked to the manager or owner. Apologised and said he wasnt sure how it happened and attempted to find excuses for it and if I ordered again, it would be gratis.I didn’t want what I went through to anyone else so stressed to please ensure it would not happen again.Two weeks later, a couple of days ago. I called to try them out again. They asked if I could come pick it up. I could not. I was told after being passed to the manager/owner that it would an hour and would have to charge me $5 delivery! I said no thank you. I am very disappointed that I suffered for two days as I informed him and was willing to give a second chance and I felt that the previous gesture was insincere at that point.I will not be recommending this eatery based on my experience.
