Nicely done. A little greasy and lacking in salt but one of the better fish and chip places I’ve been to. Potato cakes are homemade. Onion rings are delicious. Chips leave a little to be desired. Store is also modern/clean/fresh which is not always a given for these types of places. Really lovely customer service as well 🙂
I was having major cravings for fish and chips today. Last time out was a major disappointment. Reviews of this place was glowing so we jumped into the car and hightailed it to Ferntree Gully.
We had John’s pack which has 2 of fish (we decided on dory), scallops, fish sticks, potato cakes, dim sims and chips.
Driving home, the smell was intoxicating. You know it was crispy by how it looked and smelled.
First bite did not disappoint. Crispy, tasty, yummy. Overall, a very good experience, dare I say, best fish and chips this part of town?
Only criticism would be, a little bit of seasoning on the fish before it’s battered?
We’ll be back.
The best fish and chips in the area with out doubt
Staff a friendly and your not waiting long to be served. Their meal deals I think are worth the money.
We love the crispy catch
The food is fantastic it’s a clean and busy shop
We waited for almost 2 hrs to get our order they were that packed on good Friday this year and we couldn’t care less because the food is that good!!
The staff are so lovely too
We recommend this place to everyone and we live a good 10-15 min away
Went here on Friday night for take away and it was pumping with heaps of people waiting and lots of staff flat out busy. Got the family pack and rockling grilled. More than enough for five people and not overpriced. Food was good.
Surprised there are still people insisting on cash only – really – you’d be better doing things above board.
This is our go to local place if we want fish and chips. The majority of the time the food is really good, but it can occasionally be a bit ‘ordinary’ with dry chips and a little bit overcooked fish on random occasions. But most of the time you can expect good sized servings, juicy flake (battered and grilled) are both nice and really fresh tasting. The oil is also better than most places as they use rice bran oil, doesn’t have that stale lard taste to it. Other highlights are their souvlakis, nice pita bread ( but not homemade), good flavoured chicken or lamb off the spit and fresh ingredients inside. Salads are just OK here( Greek, beetroot, coleslaw, seafood) but nothing special, just plain commercial dressings seem to be used. Staff are pretty friendly too. This place is definitely better than your average fish n chip place, and would recommend
I’m not a fish and chips person but I love it there. Fresh, crispy, not oily and not salty. Tried the chicken souvlaki which is yummy too. Highly recommended!!
