I went to Afro Hub tonight to try the $20 all you can eat vegan night. It was very disorganised. I booked for 6:30pm but they thought I had booked for 7pm and the vegan food wouldn’t be served until around 7pm anyway.

After you pay you get a glass of mulled wine, which was strong and helped make this $20 meal well valued (kind of). Unfortunately the food still isn’t ready so you have to place the mulled wine on the table and wait to be served. By the time you get your food, possibly the mulled wine will be cold or luke warm. Would be better if we could get the mulled wine after receiving the food.

The food was a bit of a mess, and all curries were of the same texture. Would be nice if we had one curry that wasn’t all a runny texture so we could have variety. The African bread was good quality however most of the curries were average besides from the red one.

The venue also does not make enough food for the amount of people that show up. This can’t be billed as an all you can eat night when food quickly runs out. Within 50 minutes rice and one of the curries had run out. Make more food. I know it is frustrating for the venue since people do not book so I guess they don’t expect to have so many people turn up but this is the second week in a row that this has happened (I followed them on Facebook so that’s how I know about that).

All the best of luck. It’s an interesting idea. However I would recommend going to North Melbourne’s Little Africa restaurant. Much better value there, cheaper, more filling, more variety!

Went to this restaurant on recommendation of a friend. Loved it. Food was so flavoursome. The female owner was absolutely lovely. They have different African bands on Sundays from 6pm, can’t miss. Everyone needs to give it a go
