Iconic old school proper Italian pizza place. Really well priced imported beers and pizza with great local vibe. You can expect a great pizza and a beer for under $20 all up. Cool vintage 70’s vibe and owner is always good for a chat and a laugh.
Come here quite frequently, like 2 – 3 times a week, nice cheap decent eat. I think the pasta’s there a very good for what you pay, as far as authenticity goes the owner is Italian and loves to have a friendy chat. Highly recommend if you want somewhere to chill after work and have a feed!

Having real Peroni’s to wash down the wonderful selection of fairly priced thin based pizzas left my belly and my wallet full with content!
Staff were friendly and general vibe of the place is inviting and unique!

We had good food for the price
Yes the owner smokes and drinks out the front but is he working or just helping staff when they are busy. For the price you are not getting silver service, you a re getting a grat variety of cold beers and pizzas that are ok but for the price great value
Huge selection of beers, but really you only come to this place which is for the tasty selection of pizzas. We’re in there once a week, either picking up a take away or relaxing in the bar.
Fantastic value for money, simple, honest pizza with a decent thin base and not over loaded with subpar ingredients. Awesome beer selection, really appreciate being able the find some of my kiwi favourites. Cheers guys
The last two reviews of Bar Fred seem pretty suspect first who cares that the owner smokes in the front area the area is designated for both smokers and non smokers Secondly this place has not produced $5 pizzas for some years for those who understand pizza this place produces authentic real italian style pizzas for around $10 – $12 dollars not pizzas covered in sub standard produce.
This venue is an adult venue designed for adults who want a drink eat a great pizza and have a catch up I have a real problem with reviews that are not accurate and concentrate on negatives keep up the good work bar fred
