After five long years of hibernation with no reviewing, The Truth Speaker is back once more. Only one establishment could bring back The Truth and that establishment, my friends, is Super Tasty Rooster of Fitzroy North.
Even as conspirators from the fish and chip trade try to bring down the chicken industry with bird flu propaganda, Super Tasty Rooster refuses to go down in flames instead the grill at Super Tasty is roaring, producing some of the most succulent chicken this side of the Mekong Delta. There is no better way to thwart off the cold of winter, then to sit back with a quarter chicken and chips from STR and indulge the palate. And sit back you must, as these portions are no feat for a standing man. The amount of potatoes used for one serving of chips is enough to make my Slavic for-fathers shed a tear. Besides the generous portions, this feedery brings untold joy to the northern suburbs every Monday and Tuesday with the $6.00 quarter chicken and chips deal. So if you hate your dead-end job and the start of the working week has you fighting off that overwhelming feeling of depression Super Tasty Rooster has you covered.
Next time you have a hankering for that fine white meat, discard any thoughts of the American Colonel or the red giant that lost its soul years ago, and instead support your local community business, Super Taster Rooster.

Most epic chicken shop, that crispy chicken is way better than that place KFC. The staff are super friendly and the food is simply delicious.
The name of this place says it all (almost). Not only is the chook super tasty, the sides are also just as worthy of a mention! If you’re looking for a decent chicken feed this is a cock-a-doodle-do!
Cheap, tasty chicken and potatoes! The gravy is also pretty good – make sure you order a generous size cause it’s addictive. Don’t really rate the sides though. The cooked veges and potato bake weren’t worth the stomach space.
Peter Angri. Tried the $ 6 special chicken/chips. No gravy added. When I asked for some gravy was told it would be 80c extra. Got the chicken home and somehow all the stuffing/seasoning had gone missing. Totally dry tasteless chicken No flavour at all. Most disappointing meal. Why put on cheap specials then skimp on the extra bits that make the meal. There are better chicken shops than this around.
Best chicken shop in town!. I have been a regular customer at this little chicken shop for about 4 years now. Chickens are succulent, chips super crunchy and salads are always fresh. The ladies who run the shop are some of the loveliest people you will ever come across. Always a pleasure!
Excellent traditional chicken shop banging out succulent chickens, great chicken burgers and glorious chicken salt chips. Big fan! All at reasonable prices. Monday and Tuesday $6 1/4chicken and chips. Service is good by the two ladies who know how to cook good chicken, chip servings are generous, I’ll be back for sure
