Ive been past the Parkview Hotel hundreds of times, I reckon. Theres not one time Ive looked at the place on a nice day and havent wanted to go and sit and have a few drinks in the outdoor area visible from the adjoining roads, St Georges Road, Scotchmer Street and Taplin Street. Whoever tacked this outdoor area onto this place is a marketing visionary. There are always people in that area with their drinks and they always look really happy. Meanwhile, you sit in your car or on the tram pissed off that youre stuck in slow traffic not drinking and having fun like those other people. The good news is I ticked this outdoor experience off my list today and it felt great. I sat there with a crisp rose on a warm day with a hint of cooling breeze looking out at others. The experience works, let me tell you. It moved me as Id always hoped. I loved it and plan to repeat it. Possibly over and over and over again.
