What a special night. My partner and I came here for an occasion dinner. The restaurant was empty but we were promptly seated on a candle-lit table. We ordered oysters and their fish fin special for entre, their steak, lamb and a fish stew for mains and finished off with a pecan pie.
Their lamb and the fish fin were the highlights personally. My partner, with a greater tendency towards seafood enjoyed his stew and fin.
I was surprised by the quality of their food and the impeccable attention to detail in plating that paired the rustic and homely with a distinct and purposeful aesthetic that meld well with the overall vibe of the restaurant.
The dcor was cosy, ambient and private.
This is a trusty pub to go to for a good feed. Ive been popping in here for years. Fish is always cooked well as are the steaks. Ive only had one bad meal here (lamb was very tough and chewy- the cut in my opinion was better suited to slow cooking). I love having some of my vegetables cooked over charcoal. The venue itself is nice but the noise levels when busy can mean its very hard to hold a conversation!
