This is one of my locals and every time I’ve been here, I get great coffee and simple but well cooked and presented food. Compared to other Fitzroy cafes, you don’t have to shout over music or other people’s conversations so if you’re an avid book reader and like a nice cold drip, this cafe is for you.
Ordered:
Potato Rosti Stack: potato rosh with poached egg, avo, kale and goats cheese, topped with a herby salad ($16)
Food review:
The potato rosh was quite dry and the kale was decent. From this dish, I know that definitely prefer my kale crispy. The poached egg was also overpoached. The feels when you put your knife into the egg and it’s cooked :'(
Service:
Lovely people! Kind smiles and very attentive (although the cafe people traffic was a little slow). Too bad the food wasn’t stellar though.
One of my favourite places in Melbourne- the staff are always delightful and really care about the quality of their food and coffee using the best produce and ingredients. I also buy my coffee beans from here and they’re delicious! Highly recommend!
Service was very friendly, all the staff were smiling. The coffee was nice and smooth but my latte was as big as my friends cappuccino which I found odd.
Great coffee, creamy and not bitter in the slightest. I must say every coffee I’ve loved was from the owner or guy who works there in the mornings. I went there once late afternoon and someone else made it for myself and a friend and we were both disappointed, kind of ‘meh’. It would also be great if they served large sizes as regular is just not enough so that sways me away from going daily.
Coming in for a quick breakfast in this little, cozy cafe. The staff was friendly. I ordered a long black and a coconut porridge with passion fruits, strawberries and kiwi fruits. The long black was ordinary, I could only taste bitterness, it was at a nice hot temperature at least! It took a long time for the porridge to come on a no-so-busy Friday. The serve of the porridge was huge, I couldn’t finish it, I wish it was cooked with more milk. Quite an ordinary cafe.
Very cozy little place. The deco is wonderful considering the space they have to work with. Love the wood wall! Tiny small little cafe but they do amazing things. The staff is friendly and I came just close to closing time but still had a wonderful experience. Only had a ice mocha but will be back to check out the food here for sure!
