I had brunch here with a friend on Saturday and left very satisfied. The staff were lovely, and service was very quick. I had the Mork hot chocolate which was delicious! I also had the panacotta which was delicious. Will definitely return!
Having bookmarked Sir Charles some time ago it was a treat to finally pay them a visit. The cafe decor and fit out is trendy, cool and sophisticated.
Service was really good along with the menu. My partner and I both ordered the beef short rib and we shared the loaded fries. The beef short rib was beautiful to look at with vibrant colours popping out and the rib centred on the plate. The taste was nice however the short rib wasn’t what I was expecting, it tasted a little bland and I couldn’t taste the tamari or ginger as promised. Not a bad dish by any means but just not a ‘knock your socks off’ dish. The fries, OMG – my tastebuds were in heaven! Everything about this was just spot on, the chilli bursts, the parmesan and coriander.. yuuum
Coffees were excellent, definitely a place to try if you’re in the area.
I came here on a Sunday morning with a friend who was invited to try their menu.
There are some dishes that are worth the hype, and the sir Charles benedict is worth it. An Asian inspired version of eggs benny, I really enjoyed the panko-crumbed eggs and the sriracha hollandaise, and it was a nice change to have it served on roti. An inspired choice.
We also tried the beef brisket burger, and shared the smoothie bowl special. I do have to give special mention to the home made fruit roll ups it brought me back to childhood.
Coffee was decent and service was particularly stellar. Definitely worth a visit for the Asian-influenced eggs benny.
Fantastic brunch! Prepare to line up though, this place gets super busy. Such an inventive menu and excellently executed. Loved the eggs Benedict and the smashed avo was delish. Servings are massive – you wont leave hungry! They have some great baked sweets too if you want to take some away or have some with coffee. Highly recommend!

This place has been on my bucket list ever since i saw their famous waffles. The restaurant is spacious and relaxed with indoor plants to make it feel like your in a mini garden. We came on a Saturday morning before the afternoon rush. Even though it was only 9.30am their all day lunch menu was a hit for breakfast!
What we had….
Beef Short Ribs: We were recommended to try their beef short ribs. The ribs were tender and juicy and were soft. Accompanies with roasted carrots and a light salad this is the perfect hearty meal. An yes! you can have this for breakfast because its an ALL DAY LUNCH MENU!
Special of the week: Calamari salad with coconut dressing.
We were happy to try one of the specials for the week. It is great when restaurants have a new special every week as it makes you want to come back every week. The salad was fresh with lightly fried calamari. The salad was a perfect combination of flavours with Green Papaya, cucumber, shallot, roasted rice and a Tamarind and Coconut Dressing.
Coconut Panna Cotta:
As usual a sweet is a must! This Panna Cotta wasn’t a smooth wobbly one. Instead it was textured and was accompanied by sorbet and jellies bringing the flavours together.
What an amazing cafe! We cant believe we havent visited earlier. The food was fresh and delicious. The Eggs Benny has a different spin on it which we loved and stood out. The loaded fries were so good you have to pull yourself away to stop eating them. And our favourite dish was the smoothie bowl – the coconut yoghurt, made in house, was absolutely perfection! Definitely a place to try!
I was invited to Sir Charles today to check out their new menu. I started with a PB banana smoothie which had quite a cacao taste to it. We chose to try the French toast, coconut panna cotta and beef short ribs.
The strawberry and coconut French toast was a very uniquely presented dish that resembled a jam roll. This was accompanied by chocolate ganache, pistachio cream and lemon curd. Very interesting elements that worked cohesively together and I enjoyed the soft texture of the chocolate. I also applaud the creativity of the dish.
The panna cotta had quite a desiccated texture to it owing to the coconut and wasnt the smooth texture I tend to expect with a dish of this nature. I really enjoyed the feijoa pure however. Once again very different and some real thinking outside the box here with these flavour combinations. I adored the freshness of the green apple sorbet and there were plenty of textures to keep it interesting including a lovely light apple jelly and some compressed melon.
The beef rib was our final dish. I had expected more punchy flavours from the tamari and ginger glaze and think it would have been elevated by a bit more seasoning although it was certainly an impressively presented dish much like all the others. Great new menu

I was excited to be invited to Sir Charles as Id been trying to visit since last year. The space is absolutely amazing with lots of fresh flowers, greenery and pops of graffiti peeking through the window from the Fitzroy streets. Theres also a AU79 coffee roasting section which you may be lucky enough to see in action.
We ordered a coffee and a green smoothie and awaited our food. My healthy plus 1 chose to make her own breakfast (eggs your way with a side of spinach and kale) while I went to town with the smash, adding a side of house cured ocean trout and also opting for the waffle sandwich for good measure. The smash was a bit of a unique rendition of this brunch classic with the inclusion of crispy cauliflower and was very tasty.
The house made peanut butter choc chip ice cream inside the waffle was a revelation. They should sell it by the tub. This one is a really exciting dish and a must order. After all if youre sharing it as a third dish its only half the calories.
Theres plenty of variety on the menu with something to suit everyone and they often mix up the dishes to keep it interesting for everyone so there will always be something new to try. They are also rather famous for their Benedict so plenty of options for next time
