VALUE VALUE VALUE! We bought the groupon for $29 which entitled us to spend $60 at the restaurant. We ordered the salmon with sweet potato chips and salad as well as the burger. We ordered a drink each and was told that fish and chips costs $4.95 each with an order of drinks so we got 2 servings of fish and chips which added up to $60.20. Food was cooked well and fresh. Definite value for money !

Best parma I’ve had in yonks! Had the bbq style one, chips were golden brown and crunchy and salad was superb. All washed down with a long glass of ice cold Canadian club……. magnificent! Friendly staff, welcoming manager and a beautiful clean pub. I’ll be back again for sure!
I’ve only had great service here and food is brought out promptly. This is a great local pub that you can have conversation that everyone can hear. The garlic cheese bread is yum and had roast lamb was good , Parma is a good size and chips were good. Give it a try

Hmmm.. So I’m a bit conflicted. I’ve been here 4 times and its been inconsistent.
I was really craving a Parmi so based on my last experience, I came back to the Powell.
Tonight I waited an hour for my dinner to arrive.. That really began to annoy me considering last time I came here meals took less than 20 minutes. While the Parmi came out and the chicken itself was juicy and sufficient ; the toppings lacked any real oomph or flavour. The mushroom sauce I ordered for my chips was appalling.. its gravy base is tasteless! Last time we came my BF had a steak burger and it looked awesome! I would definitely try a burger next time if I bothered coming back. Service was meh.. I mean I felt like I had been completely forgotten about tonight and if I hadn’t approached the bar after such a long wait, it never would’ve came out. Very frustrating!
Had a fantastic meal here. Service is top notch and whilst it is a pub, the food portions are presented and tasted like high dining, without the bill or small quantity to match.
A true hidden gem in Footscray. Will definitely go back.
