We’ve been frequent diners in this unassuming restaurant in Footscray, which has served us well since our university days!
Our favourite here is the Grilled Chicken Pho. Also comes in Grilled Pork Pho.
The Chicken is marinated and grilled beautifully.
The Pho broth itself is deep and rich. Will be back here in winter 🙂
One of my top pho outlets in Melbourne. Food here is top notch – fresh, tasty and generous with the portions. Service is speedy. Very kid-friendly too.
Lizzies first impression: I have been here since I can remember … I would say at least ten times a year and it has always been so consistent.
Lizzie enjoyed: The pho is amazing and I cannot fault anything about it. The pork cutlet with broken rice is another winner here.
Lizzie did not enjoy: nothing to fault!
Lizzie rates overall: It feels so homey and I would come back time and time again. Its affordable and the owner is lovely!
Hien Vuong was packed for Saturday lunch. One of the staff gestured us to a table on the right when he saw us walked through the door. The menu is on the wall and its predominantly pho with your choice of meat and some rice options. We ordered the beef slices & brisket, beef slices and beef balls with Vietnamese coffee. Although there are 3 sizes ( small, medium and large ) available, the staff who took our order said its only regular option for us! We would prefer smaller bowl but didnt mind it too much. The food were served very quickly and the pho broth is very flavourful. The iced coffee was good too.
Wonderful family business that serves the best pho in Footscray; I’ve been a loyal customer for 4 years now and wouldn’t go anywhere else for my pho fix!
*Update 24/4/17*
Not sure what happened to their pho and spring rolls! Spring rolls definitely shrunk in size and it’s fried so badly! (see images below)
Also I used to love their pho. It used to be refreshing and tasty but today I got so dehydrated after. Too much MSG?
I won’t be back anytime soon.

This place was recommended by one of my friends.
Ordered the special chilli beef soup with vermicelli (as suggested) and spring rolls.
The special chilli beef soup tastes like pho soup mixed with a bit of tom yum paste (not sure if they add tom yum paste but it tasted so ). The beef pieces given were good quality and cleaned well. Although this dish tastes different from the conventional pho, I still prefer having pho (sorry not a convert yet). haha.
The spring rolls (10 rolls) were just $11 which is VERY affordable imo. They’re freshly fried and almost burnt my tongue. haha.
The food tasted good and service was attentive. Surroundings are clean as well. I’ll definitely be back to try pho instead of the chili beef soup.
Ordered special chicken pho , all the lovely long rice noodles had been Broken into tiny pieces to create an unenjoyable texture. We did mention this to the waitress, but I’m not sure what happened to the complaint , no apologies forthcoming ect… I don’t think I’d be writing this average review if I felt like the complaint was taken a little more seriously. Disappointed … seemed like they were trying to close also so maybe trying to use up some scraps end of evening 🙁
