Heard about this place through Broadsheet Melbourne. The write up described it well and was convincing enough to head out of the city to try. I really liked it! The pizzas were good and the atmosphere and vibe were only enhanced by the decor/fit out. If you’re after a great place to chill with mates and enjoy some pizza and beer – this place is for you.

Honeycomb Hideout is the first place to offer a legitimate hang out joint to enjoy drinks with friends on a weekend.
Even though it may not be the most bustling place to hang out on a Saturday night, that is sure to change as Footscray grows!

Great little hideout, excellent pizzas and great selection of beer. These guys really put in care and effort with their food. Very well priced and well worth a visit….or 5!
Cultralizing into Asian Footscray is a wave of new cafes and restaurants of burgers, pasta, bars and now upmarket stone fired pizzas. I am relieved to see this much needed transition happen with the introduction of Honeycomb Hideout.
The name itself does not reveal what type of food is on offer but that adds to the intrigue. Loving the Melbourne concept and utilization of laneways, this place dishes up a small menu of thin crust gourmet pizzas. Base and fillings are deliously light. We had the Pulled Beef, Margherita and the Garlic pizza. All were quickly consumed. Best was the pulled beef. I enjoyed the BBQ sauce and succulent beef that is evident of being lovingly slow cooked…a respect to the produce, as they would say on MKR.
Negative would be the size. One person, no matter what sex, would easily kill one pizza alone and considering the price around $17 for pulled beef, you really need to drown yourself in beer or kill another pizza. I chose to scoff down another pizza.
Comparison to other local gourmet pizza gems such as Ovest, to me the taste alone is better than Ovest. If only the size was bigger or had a selection of sizes and a greater menu range would be my only wish.
All in all, a great hideaway concept for pizzas n beers in the heart of foodie Footscray.
We came for the cheap craft beers and will be coming back to clock the whole menu. This place rules! Really knowledgable staff that are keen to recommend beers and take you beyond what you think you like and introduce you to some next level froffies. The pizza was awesome too! Footscray rules!
