I just paid $5 for 35 chips that are soggy and not cooked in the centre. Avoid this place. There are plenty of fish and chip shops in the area. Rip off
I pass Conway quite often, this is the time to give it try.
I ordered a fish burger with wasabi mayo, plus I am the only customer at that moment, then I received my product like the photo shown below.
*that wasn’t a fish, I don’t know what I was eating to be honest.
*only onion sauce tasted, no wasabi mayo at all.
*all staff were sleeping?
Conway is a great place to have a quick healthy meal at a decent price. Arrived after a long walk and the dish (container) hit the spot. I got the grilled swordfish with Greek salad for 13.50. Salad was well balanced and the swordfish cooked maybe a little too long but was still very flavourful and had no problems polishing it off. Plenty of Parking in front which is an added bonus. It is next to a primary school so be wary about peak times. My only gripe would be that they dont use plates for eating in, Otherwise would recommend this long lasting Footscray business to everyone.
So average. Usually overcooked. Tuna always dry. Staff can barely speak and understand English making the experience difficult. Who over owns this place should retrain and place some decent systems in
Grilled tuna fish was very over cooked and grey right through which is a shame considering the fish itself appeared to be very fresh and of high quality. Not the first time this has happened. My suggestion is to stick to the fried menu which is always consistently good.
EDIT. I went back recently for just some basic fried fish and chips. The batter was very doughy and fish was dry. Last time I ever purchase food from there.
When a short Greek guy used to take care of the place food was always perfect
Now it’s hit and miss. Got poor quality food a few times in a row.
My fish was burnt and it wasn’t busy
Excellent fried fish, will be returning shortly to try more of the menu. We have tried many fish and chips in Melbourne and are pleased to have stumbled across this one.
