Just your average fish and chip place in Footscray. The fish and chips were crunchy and salted to perfection but the fish cakes were quite poor.
BAD EXPERIENCE 🙁 Me and my friends are frequent customers at Hot Fish Conway..BEFORE they served dishes like my picture 🙁 1 portion now = 1/2 portion 1-2 months ago. Even the spring onions were not fresh, octopus did not cook well, rice was really dry in my opinion. I wanted to give them their last chance but today’s experience was a disappointment.

Unlike any other fish and chip place they use a thin batter with herbs on their default fish.
I was impressed with this and the slice of lemon which came standard. The chips were crispy and a tad oversalted.Chips and fish were par cooked and the finishing cook was done to order.
The fish was nice and flakey .service was autonomous and friendly.
I suspect as they are also a commercial and domestic supplier the fish is from their fresh seafood store.
Perhaps more costly then a local F&C shop
