Love this place! Have been many times and also had my partner’s birthday here with about 30 guests. Food is always delicious and the owner is so friendly and welcoming. He always looks after us. Having a birthday here also includes cake which is a great incentive 🙂 but even without cake the food is so great and so cheap!
Such great food! Met the owner in an Uber and he suggested I come check it out. So glad that I did. Best Ethiopian food I’ve ever had and it was such friendly service and great atmosphere. Great prices too. I really want to come down on a Saturday night when they have live music – I’ll definitely be back 🙂
Jambo hit the infant Footscray bar scene on Boxing Day 2014 and instantly presented a mature and well rounded presence.
Since then Jambo, which is Swahili friendly treating, and the charming Ethiopian Bar and restaurants owner Abel have only gone from strength to strength.
While sporting excellent and well respected Ethiopian beer, wine and cuisine, Jambo also is a live music venue the is a favourite of not only African Jazz acts of whom you aren’t likely to enjoy at many other venues in Melbourne’s music scene, but also local and eclectic international acts.
All of this appeal is amazing able and dose coexist in a space of a former pizza joint.
In summery Jambo, I devoutly believe, is the best thing to happen to Footscray in a long, long time.
