The place was short on staff. It took a while to get the attention of the waitress but she was quickly called away to serve another patron whilst taking our order. I wanted to order a chef’s special but it wasn’t available. I was surprised when I was told only 1/5 chef’s special dish was available for order. As for the taste, the muglai (soft fried bread with egg and onion) and halim (mix of lentils, grain and meat) were tasty. However, the old Dhakaiya style katchi biriyani was bland.
Great location and environment, good service, very neat and well maintained. It’s a bit retro, but with all modern facilities. The restaurants pretty expense though.
great to see a qualityful Bangladeshi Restaurant in Melbourne finally…morog polao, mutton leg roast and crab curry must try items…….
keep it up
food is really amazing…. we tried Morog polao, tehari, mejban, kala bhuna, rui fish…. each of the dishes is too yummy…this compliment on behalf of our 7 friends as well…. last few years we were just bored on having as usual indian foods…now this place is our regular place….. last but not the least their deshi tea is the best…
This meal proved that you can never get real authentic food like in Bangladesh. Portions were really small for the price paid and every dish we ordered was pre-heated in the microwave. We could hear the microwave beeping in the background each time a dish came out. We were also the only people in the restaurant. We had the ‘kala bhuna’ beef which was nothing like ‘kala bhuna’. The lamb brain curry was pretty good however the ‘morog polau’ was greasy and disappointing.
