Great coffee and great service. They always make me feel at home. The menu consists of the standard brekkie and lunch staples which are good. Working in Frankston now, this has become my usual lunch stop.

Beautiful coffee and service. Without hesitation just the best coffee in Frankston. They know how to make a delightful long black with crema! No other cafs in Frankston have any idea. The service is fantastic and the prices are more than fair.

Good coffee. Clientele a bit rough – not a place to take your date – but they do a fair trade and good home cooked fare.

Just barely merits a thumb’s up. I don’t usually order brekky at cafes, because my standard morning starter is a strong espresso-based coffee with a piece of sweet pastry, whether I’m at home or on the road. But I had already eaten that in my flat at about 3:30 a.m. on a day when I was planning a pushbike ramble around Frankston. I’m trying to get to know Boganville there a bit better, so I reckoned I’d stop in at some local indy cafe to soak up the vibe. And what’s more vibey than a place like Buenta, jammed up next to the train station and main bus interchange?

The wheeled transport is outside, but the eggs Benedict I had indoors was totally pedestrian. Characterless crumpet halves, a single thin slice of ham like what you’d get as cold cuts from the deli, Hollendaise sauce that tasted like it came from a jar. The eggs were cooked well, though, with runny yolks. The spinach (doesn’t that make this a Florentine, then?) was fresh before it landed under my eggs — strong flavour. (I mean that in a good way.) The item wasn’t cheap — $16 — and it came unaccompanied on the plate. For that price, you can’t toss on some fried potatoes? My flat white was OK, on the small side and watery, not intense. It was on a par with Hudson’s and Gloria Jean’s, adequate but not great.

Still, the crew at Cafe Buenta didn’t stuff anything up. I don’t come to places like this expecting gourmet. The staff was friendly, the atmosphere was friendly — lots of regulars stopping in to chat with the line cook — and the food was basic. If that’s what you’re after, then Buenta is bueno.

Only ever had take away coffee but always excellent with friendly service

Lovely Coffee… Great ‘Big Breakfast’ to get you over a big night. Fresh OJ n thick toasted sour dough

  • Peter C

My morning coffee. It’s always decent and always delivered with a smile.
The food is basic, not flash, no flair, but passable for the price.
