Ordered the Jungle Curry with coconut rice, and the chicken satay entre, for takeaway.
The dcor’s nice here! A lovely impressionist-esque mural of a medieval Thai royal court takes up most of the back, with a white elephant taking pride of place, and the lighting is what you want – not too bright, but you can still see.
Service was mostly great – attentive, very friendly, made sure I got my order right, offered if I wanted rice when I forgot to order it .
However! However… when I got my takeaway order, I didn’t get any cutlery! A minor point but it had me hunting for a fork and a spoon at Geelong Railway Station so there’s that. If the proprietor reads this, please, take heed! Cutlery in takeaway orders!
The curry itself, once I could actually eat it, was excellent. Left me with a happy tingle on my lips, and made properly from scratch, as far as I could tell. It even had green peppercorns in it!
Spice lovers take note – I ordered ‘hot’ from usual mild-medium-hot trio, and it was pretty subdued.
I had the chicken satay skewers after, and they were delicious as it gets. Peanut sauce was as delicious as one would expect from a thai peanut sauce. Good stuff.
All in all, it was pretty great. I’ll probably eat there again when I’m in Geelong – didn’t get a chance to try any of the salads or rice dishes yet!
