Waited almost an hour for my dinner. A birthday dinner ruined by long waits on a not very busy night. Needs improvement on service, all that was said was there were some complication to your order. (not really sure what that means)

Food: Can’t really make a comment on food due to long wait. I’m sure if it came on time it would’ve been a pleasant meal and experience.

What a nice surprise – I came here with my wife and two friends to catch a quick meal before an 8.30pm movie. I had called around to some other eateries that were already full and then I came across Centra and saw some of the positive reviews. I thought it was worth a try, and it was close to the movie theatre too. I was not able to get a timely booking with the online portal, so I thought I would ring up and try my luck. I was warmly greeted by a gentleman, and I was completely made to feel at ease straight away. He quickly offered me an earlier (7.15pm) booking since we needed to be in the movies by 8.30pm.
When we arrived we were immediately shown to our table. The place was full. Families with young children, couples, young and old. It was casual, and a little noisy, but quite acceptably so. Our waiters were all quick and efficient – drinks orders taken immediately, water offered and brought out promptly. Both the wine and beer offerings were terrific for what is clearly a VERY nice casual dining place. The waitress explained the specials, and we were left to ponder what was an exceptionally nice sounding menu and specials. After making our choices our starters promptly arrived. The olives warm and bursting with flavour. The Caprese salad was super fresh and the mozzarella was super fluffy and delicious. It was a VERY good start, and left me feeling confident that I had fortuitously landed on a WINNER.
Our meals didn’t disappoint – the pasta’s were all delicious, well cooked, and true to their descriptions. All arrived together, and in a VERY timely fashion. I had the lamb ragu which was excellent. The special was a saffron and prawn risotto, which was well cooked and very tasty. My wife had the pumpkin gnocchi which she was completely happy with. We were left desperately trying to polish off the last of the green bean side and the parmesan salad as the bill arrived at 8.25pm. It was more than reasonable. $100 per couple for the whole shebang. Predinner drinks. A glass of wine with. A couple of entrees. Four mains. Two sides.
Come on – this place is just a fantastic casual diner in Geelong. We’re from Melbourne and this place is right up their with the very best gastro-pubs. Well done to the owners, chefs, and terrific floor staff. I look forward to doing it again. THANK YOU.

A great find for Saturday lunch, in fact for lunch or dinner any day. Wonderfully renovated pub, with lots of seperate areas for eating and drinking. Restaurant atmosphere is great. Excellent staff, who know the menu and wine list, and can answer questions and make recommendations. Wine list is reasonably priced and very interesting with a mix of Australian and European wines. Try the house white or red, made for them by Del Rios. Menu is not overly complicated with too many dishes, and has good entrees, pasta, mains, and desserts. Didn’t try the pizza but it looks good. Tomato salad was fresh and tasty, pork chop well cooked and interesting, and tiramisu a good way to finish the meal. Good coffee also.

Great staff. Excellent selection of wine, beers and spirits. Beautiful fit out. Delicious food. Top service. They’re about to open a beer garden for summer – lots of wood, olive trees, overhead heater – which will be epic! Can’t wait. New CBD pub / Italian restaurant favourite.

Love love love it. Walked in expecting a pub lunch but found a beautifully decorated Italian restaurant with an authentic menu. Had the place to ourselves which was nice. Food was soooo good, we had to go back for another date night. Convinced work we needed to have a gathering here. All experiences great, service of a high standard, will be back again and again. Highly recommend the lamb ragu – husband’s favorite dish. Fantastic wine & coffee too.

Food is equisite! Especially the Brown butter pumpkin ravioli, of which i have been craving for two weeks since eating it. The service is wonderful, the staff knew the menu incredibly well (i never know those fancy Italian foods). The atmosphere is classy, and contemporary, yet relaxed and warm. The prices are a little more on the pricey side, but you get what you pay for.
