Classy, appealing, knowledgeable and beautifuly presented food. Started with a sweet wine and my brother had a white. Paired with zuccinni flowers (absolute generous size) and I had the pork belly w scallops. Both of these entrees were cooked to perfection, 10+ , the main was marinated chicken breast and scotch fillet paired with red as the manager did for us. once again totally generous size , the taste is incredible and being a well done scotch to be as tender as it was, wow. New chef (2 days) has just started and is a 10+ , the way Meals are presented and cooked to perfection. New menu is A class and absolute fine dining. Staff were knowledgeable and waited on us beautifully. Small wait, but that doesn’t matter when you have a meal as good as ours. Big shout out to the new chef , hands up! Will be coming pleanty more times. Best!!!!!

Great venue for a restaurant, however we got a table, no table service for over an hour, had to ask for menus. We’re told staff were busy & someone would attend to us. Sadly we didn’t even get to try the food or even have a glass of water. Ended up leaving and looking for another cafe. Would give you another chance in the future maybe if you had more waiters, otherwise we can’t recommend you.

Lunched here today at around 11:30 am & chose their Lasagne with chips & salad for $22. The meal was flavoursome (even Garfield the lasagne loving cartoon character cat would have been pleased), with the chips being deep fried well and it was served steaming hot and within 10 minutes of ordering (although again I was their first lunch meal customer), however I would have preferred a little more lasagne and a little less of the salad. Service provision was very good by the young German waitress who went to the trouble of checking that I was enjoying my meal (not all wait staff care). The ambiance was one of comfort with stylish old charm dcor with the background music at a level that could be heard over.

The Juror’s Verdict: Food 4/5, Service Provision 4/5, Will I return: Yes

Went here for our new years eve dinner – first cocktails we ordered were out within a few minutes and we had a great feeling we’d be happilly tipping in plenty more… but they gave us false hope. Really really long waits on drinks… food was nice enough, but nothing to rave about. Empty plates and glasses left in front of us for long periods of time.. unfortunately left there feeling a little disappointed.

High Tea: recently ventured here for a special occasion high tea. We paid $59 for the food and a glass of Chandon on arrive. We didn’t Chandon, instead a glass of some cheap sparkling I’m sure you could buy for $7 a bottle. The food was appalling. Since when is hot food served at a high tea? And chicken wings??? How classy to be gnawing on those at a high tea! After we cleared the table (the waitress seemed to struggle at clearing a table of 6) the 3 tier stand of sandwiches and sweets were delivered. My young nephew could make better sandwiches- the presentation was horrible. Some of the cakes tastes store brought. The scones were enormous and only a tiny amount of jam and cream were given. I would have thought the amount of food we left would have prompted the waitress to ask if everything was ok but not a word. Our waters were not topped up at all and it was a 28degree day and we had a pregnant guest. Don’t consider visiting this place for the high tea. For what you are expected to pay your money would be better spent at the Windsor, Langham or Sofitel in Melbourne. We tried to support a local business however unfortunately there is no where in Geelong that does a decent high tea!

We went there for breakfast and found for the price the meals were very average. My eggs benedict was borderline hard boiled and luke warm. It was a cold morning and the restaurantwas cold with no atmosphere not to mention the vinyl seats which made us colder. The old lamps on the table were grotty with no light bulb in them. This place needs a serious upgrade maybe just a simple glass with a tea light candle on the table would work. Service was good but the food was ordinary. Won’t be going back .

Really disappointed…..came for fri lunch & wished for some nice pork belly or whiting etc. Got a toastie sandwich with my wine ! Lots of pasta on the menu which is overpriced. A few mains – nothing that grabbed me, & then its pretty much toasties. Constantly had to ask the waitress for top up drinks. I always feel their staff is under trained or fresh out of the gordon, which is nothing wrong with that except when you are paying ridiculous prices ! Wont be back until you do a decent menu…..bring back the 2 course lunch special !
