sushi rice is too sour and sticky. Salmon sushi roll just got a little bit salmon but a lot of rice inside. Not very good. I could not finish one hand roll at all. Pack cake is too well done as well.
Bad attitude, poor service, can’t find chef, can’t cook food. Not really sure how the shop operates in this competitive environment. The front cashier didn’t really feel like she wants to serve customers. Hi sushi in side shopping centre.
As far as Japanese restaurants go, one could do a lot worse in the Geelong region than Hi Sushi. The establishment on Malop street offers a nice assortment of Bento and other assorted dishes, along with sushi rolls (fresh made if requested). The price is cheap and the service is prompt. There could be a larger Ramen selection sadly, which is a minor complaint. One thing that could be improved however, is the small servings of vegetables accompanying most dishes. On the flip-side of this, the portions of rice for a single serve meal/dish are huge, generous but not always a good thing (making a main for one become a sharing plate for many, caution). Fast and easy on the wallet, a cheap way to fill your belly.
BEST TERRIYAKI CHICKEN BENTO BOX AND TOFU YUMMY YUMMY YUMMY CHEAP TOO. Yumo is all I can say.
I frequesnt this place all the time, even though its over an hour from my house. Delicious Japanese Bento boxed, rice, and agedashi tofu plus sushi.
I have never had a bad meal. The staff always greet you with a smile, the food comes out quick and its really fairly priced too.
What more could you want?. The mushroom and tofu miso soups is so tasty. I didnt think I liked Miso after trying it many times at various restaurants but Hi Sushi’s one is so nice.
My fav dish is the Terriyaki Chicken Bento which comes with Agedashi tofu, steamed rice, a miso soup and a pumpkin spring roll ( spring roll is the only thing I am not a fan off, nothing wrong with it, just not my cup of green tea 😉 )
I have also tried the crispy prawn salad which comes with a decent amount of prawns, crispy coating, lovely salad and sauce all for under $10 from memory.
Love love love this place – try it out if you love Basic food with loads of flavors without being over the top.
Nice sushi in westfields. Good value
Great value for money. I’ve always enjoyed dining in here whenever I go to Westfield Geelong. Their food are almost always great, and doesn’t break your wallet too. Occassionally there were glitches with their food, like miso soup that were too salty, but other than that they have usually been great. They have sushi that I’ve never seen at other places, like the dragon sushi roll (roast duck inside) and the spider sushi roll (soft shell crab inside) not to mention others that I haven’t had a chance to try out. They are located near Coles and Chemist Warehouse, and have frontage to the Yarra St there. I think they have seats outside but I can’t recall as I’ve always taken the seat inside (it’s more convenient seating inside having a toddler using the high chair).
