Fantastic experience! Great food and atmosphere!!!. This place is wonderful! The food is great and it is excellent value for money! The atmosphere is so awesome! I cannot wait to return.
Great place for a night out with a large group. Great pork and all the beer you can drink. This isn’t fine dining, maybe not somewhere you’d take a lady on a first date but for a big group looking to have a pig out and a whole heap of beers you can’t go wrong with this place.
Bad time at rheingold. Arrived at 6 meal cost $40 and drink deal all you can drink for $30 THAT I think is the problem . not told meal pig on spit not served till 8.00 served 3 kinds of soup sauerkraut , potato and vegetable at about 6:30 when it was our table turn to line up for mains there was a choice of pig, beef and chicken accompanied by sauerkraut, pasta salad and boiled vegetables . NOT really impressed.
Ambience was tacky and way too cramped and music that loud you could not hold a conversation.
the was filled with younger people enjoying the all you can drink for $30. members of our party were subject to being hit by beer sodden napkins being thrown around and we had a camera stolen and was only returned when some of the thief’s mates told him to give it back ( he stayed at the table in front of us afterwards I would have thrown him out )
impression is that it is a restaurant for young people and customers are last ahead of profit

Still great. After decades, this place is still great fun. The food is awesome and the cosy Bavarian atmosphere is awesome. The decor hasn’t changed in 30 years but it adds to the overall charm. The hosts are just so friendly. I love it!
Party atmosphere. In a nutshell, this place is all about the atmosphere and entertainment. Sure I did enjoy my meal….especially one of the soup entres…but those hard core foodies looking for a fine dining experience will be not so happy I would imagine. However, having said that Anybody that loves roast pork on the spit with crackling is bound to be impressed. I had the chicken option and was very happy with that. cooked vegies are basic. i went with salad. But if its a birthday dnr and you want to hv fun then its a great idea. Peter Perez does a great job entertaining. I love the stone walls near the bar. critics will probably be aghast with the dated and run down aspects…such as the old dated toilets with broken latches on the toilet doors. Perhaps they will think its kitsch. But for me I liked the whole experience….it adds to the relaxed ambience.
