I guess u just cant really expect the asian food in geelong will be as good as in Melbourne, we tried so many and this time we went to sambal kampung.
The food were not dissapointing but considering the price, the taste was very basic.
Service was good and fast.
The food here is alright, flavours are quite nice if you don’t mind the sometime sloppy presentation of some dishes, although the whole sambal barramundi is liiiiiit the set up of the restaurant is like a diner/take away. Service is friendly, restaurant us clean, recommend for a quick lunch or dinner

Whilst looking for somewhere different in Geelong to eat I stumbled across Sambal Kampung & chose their Chicken & Chinese Mushrooms with an Oyster Sauce along with some broccoli, onions etc. for $19. I found the chicken well cooked & flavoursome but I’m not sure about the somewhat soft (almost oily) Chinese large Mushrooms. The dish was served steaming hot and within 10 minutes of ordering. The service provision was reasonably good but not friendly, no smiling happy staff here. The background music was pleasant & could be heard over easily however because I was seated next to the open front door traffic almost drowned it out. The small restaurant seats around 20.
The Juror’s Verdict: Food 3-3.5/5, Service Provision 3/5, Will I return: Doubtful
