Nothing much to look at from the outside, or inside really, Sir Charles Darling would have been somewhere we walked right past, except that I’d read good reviews. We went there on a Tuesday night, and the place was pretty packed. Firstly, the service was great; friendly and helpful. This is always really important to me as a part of an overall dining experience. We didn’t have a reservation, but they fitted us in at a table that was reserved for later in the night. Dinner was standard pub food, but reasonably priced, especially when you take into account the daily specials (we were there in steak night ($15.50 for a 300g porterhouse). Overall, we had a great night and would definitely go back. HINT: make a booking!

We went here for lunch. As per usual it never disappoints. It is a great pub meal and the variety is huge. Food is yummy I can highly recommend the chicken scallopini. Huge variety of dishes to choose from and reasonably priced. The service was great as usual and the atmosphere was friendly. Will definitely go back again.
Great family dining – country pub feel in best possible sense. GREAT chicken or veal parmigana served with crunchy thick fries – yum! Nice salad with it at around $24 – think it would be hard to find better value for yummy food – sweets are huge and delicious – try the lemon meringue or chocolate mousse cake. Eaten there a few times this year and its becoming our regular for tea before the pictures or after the footy.

be bothered cooking. The meals are good honest pub meals. I often have a fillet
steak or one of their scrumptious pies. The service is always friendly and you
never have to wait too long. The servings are generous without being too big; their
house red and white wines are good too. I have been here 20+ times and will continue
to go!
Wow, excellent food, great price and great service, visiting a sick relative at the Geelong hospital and found this gem the next block down. My partner wants to come back once a fortnight from melbourne to sample their fairs
Great Pub. I love dining out at this pub. Whether dining in the dining room or the bar, the atmosphere is always comfortable and friendly. The meals are uncomplicated and taste great. Sunday-Thursday they have special nights. Sunday is Roast Day, Monday and Tuesday are Steak Nights, Wednesday is Seafood night and Thursday is Parmi night. I have attended all nights bar Roast day.
Steak nights are fantastic. I love the steak. I was told by a chef from another establishment that the Chef at the Sir Charles Darling is excellent on the grill, and she was right. The steaks are simply delicious. Served with chips and salad, it is a great pub meal at a great price. Only $13.50. When i went to my first steak night i did not expect a lot for $13.50 but i was pleasantly surprised. I personally think this meal is hard to beat for the price. It really is my fave and i regular the Sir Charles Darling frequently on Steak Night. Seafood night and Parmi Nights will also not disappoint. Great meals at Great Prices.
If you choose not to eat from the Special Night menu, the regular menu offers up good meals too. The service is excellent and offers a great night. Don’t expect 5 star dining or lavish surrounds. This is a good old fashioned pub that is clean and comfortable. I definitely classify this as one of my favorite pubs to dine at. Would recommend this Hotel to anyone looking for a great night out that doesn’t cost you an arm and a leg. Just a great Pub.
