As a Melburnian (who enjoys Japanese cuisine) dining at Tomodachi for lunch was honestly a let down.
Each dish we ordered was disappointing; the gyu tataki was cooked well but the sauce was tangy and overpowered the other components in the dish. We enjoyed the pork slices and soft boiled egg in the tonkotsu ramen however the pork broth was too creamy for our liking. We wouldve enjoyed the chicken katsu curry a lot more if we had more of the curry sauce which we only received what it appeared to be a tiny drizzle. Im glad to say the katsu chicken was actually nice, crumbly and tender.
The restaurant on the other hand is cosy, well light and the staff were friendly.
