Management, please amend your listing to Waterfront Cafe Novotel Geelong. I am sure many browsers are getting this confused with Waterfront Cafe and Bar which is also know (inside the venue) as Waterfront Seafood and Grill.
The restaurant pictured ( via gallery) may confuse onlookers and provide you with some very negative feedback as the above mentioned venue is yet to be desired.
Had lunch here yesterday & chose their Grilled Barramundi with wedges & salad. My meal was served hot & within 15 minutes of ordering, however I was a bit disappointed when the so-called wedges (as advertised on the menu board just inside the eatery entrance) were not wedges but just chips, and also that I had to specifically ask for tartar sauce after my meal had been served without same being provided). Service provision was very good by polite and attentive staff members.
The Juror’s Verdict: Food 3.5/5, Service Provision 4/5, Will I return: Doubtful

On our trip back to Melbourne we dropped by the Waterfront. Gorgeous view complemented by warm rays of sunshine. We both decided on the beetroot and nut burgers eith a side of fries. Delicious. Service was attentive and good. Would definitely come again.
A wonderful vista from this venue of the eastern beach. The cafe is in a former wool packing shed and retains that industrial appearance. The settings are modern and feature timber, and the dining area is spacious. The service was welcoming and friendly. We ordered a bespoke vegetarian breakfast made up from side orders, which staff were happy to accommodate. The coffee was very good and the meals hit the spot.
Ok but nothing special
Get ready to wait for a good 15 mins of you have ordered coffee!! Very very slow service. The girls behind the counter seem to look busy but no orders are getting delivered. People are just waiting and hanging around for their orders.
Great location, but….. I recently dined at this restaurant with a group of 6 friends. It was a Monday night, so they were not busy. The menu seemed Ok, not a lot of choice, but enough to satisfy our group. After about 25 mins, the waitress came to take the drinks order. When they eventually arrived, they were wrong. So be it, everyone makes a mistake, Ordered our meals, and waited in anticipation, and waited, and waited ….6 meals, 1 steak med rare, 3 paella, 1 ribs and 2 risotto. After 90 mins our meals came. 1 steak well done, 1 ribs, 2 risotto and 1 paella. Steak went back as was ordered med rare. Waiter came and asked were we still waiting for meals? went away, came back and offered free dips for the 2 while they waited a few mins for their missing paellas. New steak arrived ( probably 3 mins after being sent back…This one, an eye fillet was cooked more than well done….dead!!!!. Full of gristle and inedible. What a waste of $44 (that included a side of cold veges). Now the dip is gone. Still no missing mains. They eventually arrived about 45 mins later. Do yourself a favour and eat elsewhere. Overpriced, poor service, ordinary food (except for the ribs, they were great). For a place in prime position on the Geelong Waterfront, very sad!!!
