Happy Cup has been in Glen Waverley since my Uni days. I have fond memories coming here on the weekends and hanging out with friends over a cup of bubble tea. The bubble tea is reliably good, service is friendly and there are a good amount of seats. Pearls have good chew but I like to go for the strawberry tea with fruit jelly.
Been craving bubble tea for a few days now and decided to give this place a try. We got the red bean and honeydew drinks here. Whilst the red bean one was pretty tasty, the honeydew was a bit of a let down. Would be willing to give another go, but not a standout.
This place is either a hit or a miss. Sometimes when I cant be bothered waiting at COCO in Boxhill, the closest option that has decent taro milk tea is here in Happy Cup. So, Happy Cup is pretty much the OG of bubble cups. Theyre not as modern as other bubble tea places. They dont have different sizes nor can you pick the amount of sugar and what not.
So the last trip to Happy Cup I ordered Taro milk tea. It was extremely grainy and tasted really off. Most of the other times its actually really smooth and delicious. We have a love hate relationship. I think I will give this a 2.5 due to the inconsistency. I do like the fact that its opened till late!
This bubble tea store has been here for a long time and one of the original bubble teastores. We ordered the peach milk tea with pearls which is well blended and sweet. Pearls were slightly chewy. Service is okay and laid out seats.
Another solid and reliable bubble tea joint which has been in this position for as long as I can remember.
It has a great choice of flavours and you can pick and choose lots of different combinations – a bit like the lottery except that in this case, you know that there will always be a sweet ending!
My pick for today was the Black Forest Milk Tea which I must say is a pretty unique flavour for bubble tea. Loved the pearls and jelly mixed in with delicious chocolate milk tea.
It’s no surprise that a visit to Happy Cup always makes me happy!
