The price is cheap for buffet at lunch around Melbourne. I was surprised they offer lots of food outside the hot pot ingredients. Such as snack, desert, and appetizers. Even with soups and dumplings.
This place was recommended to me by my cousin who absolutely loves it so I took the family here for lunch. I was quite surprised at the price difference between lunch and dinner. $42.80 for dinner and $24.80 for lunch. What a difference. No wonder it gets busy during lunch.
But my cousin mentioned that there’s a bit more variety during dinner hours compared to lunch, so that’s probably why there’s such a big gap in price.
The layout is like a buffet style where you go get your food, bring it back to your table and then cook/eat it. Quite like this concept because you can decide on how much of each dish you want. The soup options were pretty good. They had a large section of hot/cooked foods. The hot pot section was limited but that didn’t stop me from stuffing my face. They had a large sauce condiments section. Really tidy place. It does get crowded since everyone moves back and forth for food. Service is good and prompt. Definetly book before you come though!! I’d be happy to come again during lunch time because it’s pretty good for an all you can eat place for $25!
Came here for my wifes birthday as XJ is closed around this time of year.
A little bit pricier than what we usually pay but there is a lot more variety.
They are always refilling and preparing food which is nice, lots of sauce varieties, seafoods, meats and some deserts.
Would come back.
This was my first hot pot experience. I loved it! Buffet style with wide selection of meats including beef, lamb, chicken and seafood (prawns, squid, mussels etc. Mushrooms, vegetables, instant noodles and regular dried noodles.
Cooking your raw ingredients in 1 of your 2 selected broths was a tasty and fun experience.
Once finished make sure you drink the broth which has the combined flavors of everything you cooked.
There was some cooked dishes but these were cold as they arnt as popular.
Variety of foods from left to right,
Seafood, meat, desserts and sauces in sight,
Happy customers indulge upon each bite,
Friendly staff working from day to night,
A modern ambiance and hotpots set alight,
It’s a cosy buffet at the House of Delight.
Quality? Standard, but good variety of food as a buffet. Probably hygiene of this place definitely has room for improvement, dining area was quite awkward where I was chosen to sit ? Infront of the glass windowed private dining rooms for group bookings. Probably not the best place.
Service wasn’t great, difficult to find someone who was able to assist.
It has been a while since we had hotpot, so we made the best out of Melbournes erratic weather and turned it into an excuse to come here that chilly day.
Greeted and promptly ushered to our seats, our eyes were immediately drawn to the array of buffet selections as we walked to our table. Once seated, we selected our individual soup bases then proceeded to help ourselves to the unlimited buffet stand.
Apart from the hotpot selections, there were also ready cooked options available such as pan fried dumplings, stir fried vegetables, cumin pork ribs, Sichuan chilli prawns, etc as well as desserts.
At $25.80 per head for the hotpot lunch buffet, there was a decent selection of meat, vegetables and seafood with soup bases that were sufficiently tasty. The ready cooked options also averaged out well and we appreciate the copious variety of dipping sauces available.
In-house made or not, the desserts caught my eye from the moment I walked in. Perhaps it was the presentation or the dainty sizes that attracted me, but they all tasted good, and neither were overly sweet nor heavy.
The service here was one of the better all-you-can-eat buffet style hotpot places we have been to. It was polite and attentive. Our soup levels were constantly checked on and topped up as needed whilst any empty plates were cleared off pretty much as soon as they surfaced.
By the end of lunch, we were so full that we practically waddled our way out.
