OMI is a new addition in The Glen that is absolutely worth trying. OMI offers different types of bowls ranging from their famous Wagyu beef, soft shell crab and even more. They offer a lot of different sauces and their salted egg sauce is a definite must try. The portion of Wagyu in the Ultimate Wagyu bowl was lacking value for the price vs amount of meat. Despite this, the soft shell crab bowl was extremely good value.Their crêpe cakes of the day however are absolutely divine and a great way to finish the meal.

Rate: 4.0/5☆彡 Had lunch here – reminds me of Calia but more affordable and in food court – which has lots of (neat/clean) seating in the Glen. Ordered: aburi salmon rice bowl, with teriyaki sauce ($16.9) and soft-shell crab rice bowl ($16.9) and salted egg fries☆ The good:- i actually loved the salted egg fries, the salted egg flavour was relatively strong and a really good twist to regular fries. Generous in quantity- aburi salmon was tasty as expected; soft shell crab was massive and tasty- service is quick and efficient☆ Not so good:- as with some rice bowls, after finishing salmon/crab you are left with a huge portion of rice 🙁 ☆彡 Overall, am definitely returning to the more affordable yet quality Jap food 🙂 it does not even feel like we are in a food court

The signature wagyu beef was tender and delicious. Nice combination of sweet, salty, umami. The salmon with mentaiko was a bit fishy. The eggs were perfectly cooked, and loved the pickles. The portions were on the small side for the price compared to some other Japanese places I’ve been to.

I’m loving these OMI rice bowls. We loved the wagyu one more than the teriyaki chicken (only because we don’t like too much marinade or sauce). The wagyu was very tender. You can also choose from their array of topping sauces – we chose wasabi mayo and spicy mayo. They also have udon noodle soup options so I’ll be back to try those and their salted egg and black truffle sauce! Tip: ask to have the sauces on the side as it can be overbearing.

OMI is inside the glen in the food court area. It’s an open area and you can actually see them preparing your meal. I got the teriyaki salmon and my husband got the curry karrage chicken. We also got spicy mayo fries. Everything was delicious and great flavours. Definitely recommend for a quick meal.
